I am about to leave for trip #3 of 4. (By the way-if you started humming White Snake after reading this title-10 cool points to you.) A team of ten will soon meet and fly out to Arizona to work at the American Indian Christian Mission in Show Low, AZ and will be joined by one that is already there. This is the same place that I go over spring break, but this is not a ‘work’ trip, but a chance to lead a week of camp for high school aged Native Americans.
I will have to admit that this week is harder than the other one. Not necessarily as physically taxing, but certainly requiring more mental, emotional and spiritual energy. I was much more nervous about it last year as it was my first venture into camp out there and also the mission’s first high school week. I am more excited than nervous this year–especially about the team that God has assembled. I am truly blessed with a fantastic team that only God could put together. I could not have imagined the mix of people, personalities, gifts & passions that we have. It is truly a testimony to God and His vision that we are all one as we head out west.
I pray that God will use us to do a great work and that we will blessed as we hopefully bless the young people we work with. God has amazed me in so many ways this summer and I know that it will continue to happen again this week.
