Red Carpet

I just finished reading Glory Revealed by David Nasser and the last chapter really hit home with me.  He talked about how God’s glory is revealed through our preparing of the way.  Now obviously God doesn’t need us to get anything ready for Him–He can certainly do it on His own, but it does challenge me to think about how I am preparing for what He is going to do.  It made me think about how I interact with the people around me on a regular basis–staff here, youth partners, my neighbors, my own family and especially the youth that I have been called to serve.

If I can take the right attitude into each day of preparing the way for the King of the universe, it should make me work with a greater sense of urgency & awe.  My hope is that by realizing the great privilege that lies before me each day I will begin to prepare for God’s arrival as if it would happen right then.

Kind of changes your focus on your to-do list doesn’t it?
